Job Description Job Description Salary: Drafter Position Overview The Drafter will maintain accurate technical drawings and facility documentation for LBVAHCS Engineering and project teams. This role supports planning, construction, space moves, and field coordination by updating drawings, verifying existing conditions, and ensuring project teams work from reliable technical documentation. Key Responsibilities Develop, revise, and maintain drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and related drafting tools Prepare plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sketches, FF&E layers, and move documentation Update campus, building, utility, and project drawing files based on field conditions and project changes Identify incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate drawings and support corrective updates Assist with site verification, field measurements, move plans, schedules, meetings, and project coordination Qualifications and Experience Must have a minimum of five (5) years Commercial Drafting experience. Must possess an associates degree in engineering Drafting or a bachelors degree. Must have the knowledge of healthcare design and the understanding of fire codes, life safety codes, building codes, barrier free design, systems, compose cleaning and maintenance concepts, ergonomics and safety criteria. Must have the ability to review and interpret blueprints and specifications. Drafting assignments require comprehension of the detailed characteristics of item being designed and association with accepted design practices. Must be skilled in free drawing and drawing to scale when on a job site measuring for a project. Preferred certifications such as, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Des Expertise with recommendations for the selection, specification, procurement, placement of furnishings. Preferred certifications in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. 3 years of AutoCAD, 3 years of Revit, and 1 year of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook) are required. Microsoft Project & Microsoft Teams are beneficial but not required. Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with a variety of contractors, management officials, vendors, Contracting Officers at Long Beach staff and meet stated deadlines. Required Skills AutoCAD proficiency; Revit preferred Technical drawing, field verification, and document control Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and coordination skills Certification Requirement Autodesk certification preferred Clearance Requirement VA background investigation / Public Trust Salary Range To be discussed
