CT Technologist

Job Summary The CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic CT imaging procedures with a focus on radiology and cardiology. This role involves preparing and administering contrast media, ensuring radiation safety, and conducting CT scans of the abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal system. The technologist will work primarily in adult outpatient, ICU, and emergency department settings, collaborating with clinical teams to provide high-quality imaging services. A minimum of one year of experience and relevant certifications are required. Responsibilities Perform CT imaging procedures for abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal areas, with and without contrast. Prepare and administer contrast media safely and accurately. Maintain radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff. Start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture as needed for contrast administration. Conduct CT arthrography procedures. Operate CT equipment efficiently and maintain image quality. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in adult outpatient, ICU, and emergency department settings. Document procedures and patient information accurately using electronic health record systems, preferably Cerner. Adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols. Required Skills & Certification Active ARRT certification. Current BLS certification. Valid Illinois state license for CT technology. Minimum of 1 year CT technologist experience. Proficiency in abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal CT imaging. Experience with preparation and administration of contrast media. Knowledge of radiation safety principles. Ability to start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture. Experience in adult outpatient, ICU, and emergency department environments. Preferred Skills & Certification Experience with CT arthrography. Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system. Experience working in critical access or magnet hospital settings. Special Considerations No on-call requirements. Floating outside scope of practice is not expected. Must have an active license; pending licenses are not accepted. Work setting includes adult outpatient, ICU, and emergency department. Facility is a critical access magnet hospital with 25 staffed beds. Free parking available in unrestricted spaces. Scrub color policy allows any solid color. Candidate should be local with no radius restrictions. Return to office restrictions ideally no more than 5 days. Guaranteed hours may be adjusted with up to 36 hours call-off per thirteen-week assignment. Scheduling Primary shift: 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM during weekdays. Every 4th weekend: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Days off surrounding weekend shifts: Thursday and Friday before, Monday and Tuesday after.
