RN Scrub Nurse

Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN or GN is responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN or GN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Primary Department, Division, or Unit Operating Room, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Primary Work Shift Day Compensation Range $40.52 - $57.48 per hour, depending on experience You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours. Sign-on Incentives Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000. Education/Experience Minimum Required A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting License/Certification Minimum Required Current NYS RN License or Valid NYS Limited Permit to practice as a GN Preferred Professional certification in a related nursing specialty Previous scrub nurse experience Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) Certification Impeccable organization, time management, and critical-thinking skills Primary responsibilities Assisting surgeons during operations and maintaining a sterile environment, prepare the instruments, supplies and the OR for surgical procedures, effective communication with all members of the surgical team, anticipate the surgeon's needs and react quickly to changes during surgery. Work Environment 40 hour work week, 10 hour work days, On-call shifts to provide 24/7 coverage, including weekends and holidays.
