Staff Accountant

We are partnering with a rapidly growing service-based company to identify a Staff Accountant who will play an important role in supporting the accounting function as the business continues to scale. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, motivated accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of their work, and contributing to process improvements. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager and broader finance team across month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Responsibilities Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, payroll-related entries, and other recurring activity. Complete bank, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed. Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting schedules. Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and expense-reporting activities as needed. Support the preparation of monthly financial reporting and variance analyses. Assist with fixed assets, prepaid expenses, intercompany activity, and cash management. Support the annual audit and assist with requests from external auditors and tax providers. Help identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen documentation, and reduce manual work. Participate in ad hoc accounting projects as the company grows. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of accounting experience; public accounting or experience in a growing company is a plus. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and the month-end close process. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP preferred. Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems or ERP platforms. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
