K-12 Communications Strategist Hybrid, Impactful Campaigns

Captivate Media + Consulting is a growing team of expert school communicators who use stories to positively impact education and mission-driven organizations. We are a K-12 leader in crafting high-impact professional video, graphic design, motion graphics and strategic communication services that communicate complex messages to audiences with clarity, purpose and intent. POSITION: Communications Strategist Reports to: Director of Communications and Strategy Location: Hybrid (40 hrs/week) Position Summary The CommunicationsStrategist helps create, execute, and elevate strategic communications and marketing plans and activities for our clients. This position brings a proven track record in K‑12 communications and marketing, paired with the drive to proactively deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced and mission-driven environment. Objectives + Responsibilities Conduct research to inform client communications and marketing strategies Collaborate with clients to identify and prioritize communications and marketing goals Develop strategic communications and marketing plans based on research and client input Guide clients through plan implementation with a focus on strong customer service Coordinate all phases of communications and marketing efforts, including research, strategy, execution, and evaluation for assigned client projects Design graphics, print material and other visual and digital assets for client campaigns Create and manage multi-channel marketing initiatives to raise awareness and support client objectives including creating, publishing, and monitoring content and adjusting strategies based on campaign performance data Maintain strong, consultative client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention Represent Captivate Media + Consulting and its services as a trusted advisor and ambassador Support the development of proposals and new business pitches, as assigned Represent clients at conferences and events, as assigned Assist the Marketing Team in marketing efforts, including case study development, to attract and retain clients, as assigned Coach and direct communications + marketing intern on projects Allocate 60% of working time to billable client projects, ensuring high-quality strategy and service Occasional travel and evening work Skills + Qualifications Experience in K‑12 communications and marketing, including digital/web/social analytics Strong writing, editing, verbal communication, and listening skills Proactive, creative problem-solver who works well under deadlines Organized multitasker with excellent time-management skills Proficient with communications, graphic design and project management technology, including Monday.com, WordPress, Canva, Adobe Suite, and Google Workspace Positive, professional attitude and embraces “no task too big or small” Requirements Technically adept with strong interpersonal skills Dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and works well independently and collaboratively Able to pass a background check This is a full-time position in a hybrid work environment with benefits, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
