Galveston Veterinary Clinic offers up to a $2500 travel stipend for 2027 clinical year externships.

Are you a veterinary student eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment? Galveston Veterinary Clinic, located just blocks from the beach, offers externship opportunities to help you enhance your clinical skills including exotics while enjoying the coastal lifestyle.

An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. Although every NVA hospital is unique, we all have some things in common: an environment that is supportive, committed to excellent medicine, and provides exceptional service to animals and the people who love them.

Externship Highlights:

• Hands-on Experience: Work alongside experienced veterinarians in diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and treatment planning.
• Diverse Animal Care: Treat small animals and exotics
• Collaborative Environment: Learn in a supportive, mentorship-driven team.
• Flexible Duration: Externships range from 2 to 8 weeks.

All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships. Join us for a fulfilling externship and develop your veterinary skills while experiencing the unique lifestyle of Galveston Island!
