About Our Micro-Business program

Branches is dedicated to empowering Miami-Dade’s micro and small businesses from idea to implementation. Through our Business Incubator, E-Lab, and BE ONE digital community, we provide entrepreneurs with the tools, coaching, and capital they need to thrive. Using a tailored "Business Centered Design" approach, we support founders through every stage of their journey with 1-on-1 mentoring, technical skills training, and access to micro-grants.

Position Overview

The Micro-Business Program Manager plays a vital dual role, driving both the strategic execution of program initiatives and the tactical day to day operations of participant development, event coordination, inventory tracking, and grant compliance.

Strategically, this role supports program scaling, community outreach development, stakeholder relationship management, and data driven alignment with funder expectations. Tactically, the position manages participant onboarding, facilitates business registration, access to capital support, coordinates workshops, events, tracks micro-grants, maintains and submits CDBG documentation and oversees equipment inventory. By blending high-level project coordination with hands-on participant coaching, this role ensures that program activities are organized, compliant, participant-centered, and impactful.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Advise and support participants on Business registration and other regulatory requirements. This will include referring our participants to our partners for further technical support, such as business accounting, taxation, marketing and other domains.
• Refer micro-business participants for Personal financial wellness sessions to support their growth in budgeting, credit score repair, debt reduction and overall financial readiness.
• Coordinate participant intake, conduct comprehensive screenings and manage onboarding to ensure business members are properly enrolled, documented and oriented.
• Ensure timely and accurate entry and tracking of participant data within Change Machine and internal CRM systems, maintaining absolute audit readiness and data integrity.
• Plan, design, organize and manage workshops, training sessions and graduation expos from initial setup through post event breakdown and follow-up.
• Represent Branches at internal and external meetings, networking sessions and outreach events to increase program visibility for the recruitment and engagement of prospective participants.
• Oversee Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) documentation, reporting requirements and compliance obligations to ensure all activities align with funder expectations.
• Properly administer, track, and maintain documentation for micro-grants, the CASH Loan Program, and participant support resources.
• Manage inventory control for physical assets provided by donors and funders, including laptops, tools and program supplies.
• Monitor and report on participant satisfaction, executing frequent follow-ups to ensure long term success and minimize program attrition.
• Manage program communication, ensuring timely, professional and effective touchpoints with participants, Branches team members and external stakeholders.
• Network and collaborate closely with Branches team members across other departments, finance, development, programs and leadership.
• Execute and track Micro-Business Program expenses within the allocated budget.

Key Measures of Success

• Achieve the annual KPI for new Participant enrollment through effective outreach.
• Timely and accurate processing of participant intake, onboarding materials and progression tracking.
• High participant satisfaction, engagement and measurable improvements in participants' business, financial awareness and stability metrics.
• Effective, well-coordinated execution of workshops, training seminars, outreach activities, and special events (such as the annual Summit).
• Complete, accurate, and audit-ready compliance documentation for CDBG, grants, micro-grants and loan portfolios.

Requirements:

  Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience in a related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.

• Successful experience working directly with small businesses is preferred

• Proficiency in written and spoken English is necessary and Creole language skills is a plus.
