Overview The Chain Grocery Sales Representative is responsible for maintaining strong retail focus to align with all company sales objectives, including volume, distribution, share of market, and customer service. The position is responsible for growing the entire portfolio. Primary Responsibilities Regular call frequency on assigned retail accounts primarily to sell volume, increase distribution, and monitor merchandise price and shelf management. Deliver against volume targets. Achieve distribution and new package gains. Achieve monthly point‑sheet objectives. Execute supplier company programs. Establish measures to prevent out of stocks, responsible for daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using past sales history, climate changes, competitive activity, and special promotional activities. Build and maintain business relationships and present professional sales presentations using sales histories. Create localized plans to drive growth. Understand the target consumer by account. Manage appropriate price based on cost of goods. Drive aggressive features based on margin. Minimum Qualifications Developed knowledge and experience in sales and company objectives. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Above‑average presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent computer skills in all sales programs. Excellent organizational skills. Enthusiastic, team‑player interested in positive company growth. Clean, valid NYS Driver’s License. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business or Marketing is requested; a minimum of some college coursework completed is required. All sales representatives must possess and maintain a New York State Solicitor Permit for peddling alcoholic products. Physical Demands Time spent sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (keyboard, mouse, monitor), or adding machine. Occasional walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping. Occasional lifting, lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs. Compensation Competitive compensation package with expected first‑year total earnings between $43,000 and $48,000 per year plus commission. Preferred Candidate Must Have Their Own Vehicle with Valid Driver License/Insurance Required.
