Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,520 per week

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 20 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $ 2520 $500 CONTRACT COMPLETION BONUS Opportunity: RN - MedSurg Job Details: • 12-hour shifts with the option to work 36-hour guarantee • Every other weekend and every other holiday required • No on-call or standby requirements • Department: 4N PCU/MS • Unit has 29 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on days and 1:6 on nights • Nurse aides available with ratios of 1:8 on days and 1:14 on nights • Common diagnoses include abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical cases • Required skills: IV management, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, Foley catheters, electronic health record, and intermediate care background • RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin and infrequently insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin • Telemetry monitor techs on unit; RNs are not required to read their own strips • Charge nurse takes a smaller assignment; agency staff not required to work in charge role • Equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and occasional tracheostomy (no vents) • Charting system: Cerner • Block scheduling not guaranteed but made available whenever possible, especially for night shifts • May float on rotation to other med/surg units if unit is overstaffed • Scrubs of any color permitted • Orientation includes 12 hours of computer training and 12 hours of shadowing • Required certifications: BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred • BSN not required • Acute care setting, Trauma Level 2 Facility: This is an acute care facility operating at Trauma Level 2, providing a wide range of medical and surgical services. The medical-surgical unit is a progressive care environment supporting patients with complex needs, offering comprehensive specialty support and modern equipment. The facility uses Cerner as its electronic health record system and maintains a collaborative, team-oriented environment with dedicated charge nurses, nurse aides, and telemetry monitor technicians to support clinical staff.
