Position Summary: The Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) is seeking a Development Assistant to join our Advancement team. This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or development. As a key member of the team, you’ll support fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, communications, and special events while working alongside experienced development professionals. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across all aspects of fundraising and play an important role in advancing the mission of the CCAR and strengthening Reform Judaism. What You’ll Do: ADMINISTRATIVE & OPERATIONS Support the day‑to‑day operations of the Development Department by coordinating calendars, preparing correspondence, managing committee meetings, tracking projects, and helping fundraising initiatives stay on schedule. Excellent organization and project planning and management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail DONOR & DATABASE MANAGEMENT Maintain donor records, process gifts and acknowledgements, generate reports, and help ensure donors receive thoughtful stewardship. Comfort learning database systems (Salesforce experience is a plus) Accuracy, discretion, and analytical thinking COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS Help create engaging donor experiences by coordinating events, preparing communications, managing email campaigns, and supporting sponsorships and fundraising materials. Strong written and verbal communication skills Collaborative mindset and excellent interpersonal skills Desired Qualifications One or two years of administrative, communications, customer service, or nonprofit experience (internships welcome) Excellent organizational and communications skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce and Constant Contact is a plus Collaborative, proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn Why Join the CCAR?
