Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

ADON Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in managing clinical operations of the nursing department

• Develop nursing programs to ensure quality patient services

• Plan and assign workload to nursing staff on a shift-by-shift basis

• Supervise and guide nursing staff on their daily job duties

• Ensure nursing staff follow department procedures and policies

• Address patient complaints promptly to ensure patient satisfaction

• Ensure that nursing staff perform assigned duties accurately and timely

• Provide job training to nursing staff to meet department goals

• Ensure that nursing programs comply with federal, state, and local standards

ADON Requirements

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and have a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state employed

• Previous experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing and experience in working with geriatric residents is preferred

• Successful completion of a training and competency evaluation program required

• Completion of orientation required by company policy

• Health screening and TB test (if required) within two weeks of employment

• Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire

• Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check

• Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment
