Clinical Staff Pharmacist, Emergency Department Job ID: 920491 – $8,000 Sign‑On Bonus. Job Summary Work 7 on/7 off shifts, 10 hours each, from 11:00 am to 9:30 pm in the Emergency Department, providing pharmacy services and patient care. Responsibilities Perform all medication ordering duties in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Review and update medication profiles, assess therapeutic appropriateness, and document interventions. Work independently and multitask efficiently with minimal supervision. Enforce formulary policies and participate in cost‑effective medication selection. Communicate drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients; provide education and counseling. Manage pharmacy technicians and supportive personnel, validating medication accuracy. Audit and sign out controlled substances per state and federal guidelines. Participate in educational programs, orientation training, and additional projects. Support P&T initiatives, monitor target drugs, and perform therapeutic monitoring and dosage adjustments. Maintain patient records and handle confidential information. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. At least 1 year of pharmacy experience. English proficiency (speaking, reading, writing). Eligibility to be licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) upon hire. Texas pharmacy license with TSBP within 30 days. Acquired certification in STERILE COMPOUNDING (IV) via ACPE‑IV upon hire. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) and ADV CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT (ACLS) certifications or equivalent within specified time frames. Preferred: Additional pharmacist experience.
