About the Position
We are seeking a Technical Field Service Representative to provide on-site technical service, troubleshooting, installation, repair, customer support, and field sales support for our valve products. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position that combines field service, technical problem-solving, customer training, and sales support .
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge and be comfortable working directly with customers, engineers, distributors, contractors, OEMs, and other industry professionals.
This is not a traditional inside sales position . The successful candidate will spend significant time in the field providing technical service and developing strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities for additional products and services.
What You'll Do
* Travel to customer sites to perform service, troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance
* Respond to customer service needs with urgency and professionalism
* Provide technical support related to valve applications, operation, repair, and maintenance
* Conduct pre-service consultations and site visits to assess customer needs
* Prepare customer quotations and service documentation
* Train customers on product application, startup, operation, utilization, and repair
* Advise customers regarding product performance, maintenance, and service requirements
* Work alongside sales representatives during customer visits with engineers, distributors, OEMs, contractors, and end users
* Identify potential service and sales opportunities and communicate them to the appropriate sales team
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships
* Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and Marketing teams
* Maintain appropriate service parts inventory
* Complete accurate documentation and reports for billing and service activities
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* Strong mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting experience
* Experience installing, servicing, repairing, or maintaining industrial equipment, valves, pumps, or related products
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Ability to diagnose problems and recommend appropriate solutions
* Ability to prepare quotations and service recommendations
* Comfortable working independently in the field
* Ability to interact professionally with engineers, contractors, distributors, OEMs, and customers
* Ability to recognize customer needs and potential business opportunities
* Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
* Ability to travel as required
* Ability to work in confined spaces and safely use required PPE
