Model Based Mission Engineer, Senior

Role Overview As a model‑based mission engineer, you will help develop next‑generation Air Force capabilities by applying leading‑edge model‑based systems engineering (MBSE), digital engineering tools, and system‑of‑systems architectures. Your expertise in SysML modeling, mission engineering, and digital architecture development will directly impact the warfighter. In this senior role, you’ll evaluate mission architectures, conduct advanced trade studies and risk assessments, and lead the design and integration of complex aerospace and defense systems. You will work with senior engineers, analysts, and Air Force stakeholders to drive world‑class solutions, govern system models, lead mission thread analyses, assess capability gaps, and evaluate emerging technologies for future force designs. Responsibilities • Evaluate and improve advanced mission architectures for the Air Force of the future. • Lead design and integration of complex systems using MBSE tools such as Cameo MagicDraw. • Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and analytic evaluations to inform senior decision‑makers. • Govern and develop system models and mission architectures across multiple stakeholders. • Assess capability gaps and evaluate emerging technologies for integration into future force designs. Requirements 7+ years of experience developing SysML models using Cameo MagicDraw or comparable tools. Experience with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE). Knowledge of system‑of‑systems architecture development, mission engineering, and traceability to Measures of Performance (MOPs) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs). Ability to lead development, integration, and governance of complex system models and mission architectures across stakeholders. Ability to conduct and lead trade studies, risk assessments, and analytic evaluations. TS/SCI clearance. Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering. Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate represents the typical salary range for this position and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in the benefit programs. Work Model Remote: The position may require occasional in‑person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility. Hybrid: You will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently and may also require visits to customer facilities. Onsite: The role will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
