Regional Truck Driver

Distribution Center: Rialto, CA
Operating Area: Western and Southwestern United States
Equipment: Automatic Sleeper Tractors with Dry Van Trailers

Position Overview

The Regional Truck Driver is responsible for transporting and delivering palletized freight from the distribution center in Rialto, California, to retail store locations throughout the regional network. This position requires overnight travel, frequent layovers, weekend work, physical unloading, and flexibility to support changing customer and freight needs .

Drivers can expect a consistent weekly route in most cases, with occasional alternate routes based on customer demand.

Schedule & Hours

• Work 5 consecutive days , followed by a 34-hour reset .
• Saturday and Sunday work is required.
• Drivers typically begin their workweek between Tuesday and Thursday , but must be flexible to work any five days required by the account.
• A 6th workday may be required based on customer needs and freight volume.
• Loads are generally ready by 2:30 PM daily .
• Average workday is approximately 10–12 hours .
• Drivers should expect to lay over approximately 4–5 nights per week .

• Operate a consistent weekly route while remaining flexible to run alternate routes when required.
• Complete approximately 3–5 delivery stops per route , plus a backhaul.
• Pick up and transport assigned backhaul freight.
• Safely operate equipment in retail delivery environments.
• Perform blind-side backing into retail store and dock locations when necessary.
• Follow all company, customer, DOT, and safety requirements.

Unloading Responsibilities

This is a driver-unload position .

At each receiver, the driver is responsible for:

• Unloading palletized freight using a manual pallet jack .
• Moving pallets from the trailer into the customer's designated receiving area.
• Working with customer personnel who may provide some assistance during the unloading process.
• Ensuring freight is safely and properly positioned at the delivery location.

Drivers should be comfortable with the physical demands associated with manually moving palletized freight throughout their routes.

Special Requirements

• Must be willing and able to install and use tire chains when weather and road conditions require them .
• Must be comfortable operating in varying weather and driving conditions throughout the regional service area.
• Must assist other DCS/JBI accounts as needed , which may occur weekly depending on freight volumes.
• Must wear the required company uniform. Uniforms will be provided by the account.
• Must be flexible regarding routes, schedules, delivery locations, and operational needs.

Truck Information

Drivers will operate automatic sleeper tractors .

• Trucks are assigned to individual drivers .
• Sleeper equipment supports the regular overnight and layover requirements of the position.
• Assigned trucks cannot be taken home during scheduled time off .
