About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Technician Profession: OR Tech Specialty: PreOp/Postop/PACU/Surgical Services Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 3-5 years preferred License: BLS Certifications: CST (preferred) Must-Have: Experience with general surgeries (open and laparoscopic). Experience with urology, ENT, Client, and orthopedic cases. Comfortable with open abdominal cases and willing to be trained in C-sections. Cerner or EPIC experience required. Ability to assist with room turnover after cases. Description: Immediate start needed. Manager interviews will be conducted. Facility has 64 licensed beds and four operating rooms. The role requires assistance in all surgical services. Minimum experience required: RN - 5 years preferred or 3 years accepted; CST - 5 years preferred or 3 years accepted. First-time travelers are not accepted. Average of 25 cases are performed each day. Anesthesia support includes CRNAs and one anesthesiologist. Resource nurses and an OR educator are present to assist. Experience with special cases such as total joints, podiatry, and endoscopies is preferred but not mandatory. A willingness to train is essential for specific surgical procedures. Call shifts are mandatory, averaging about 6-7 call shifts per month. Weekday call typically involves 1-2 shifts, while weekends rotate every 4th or 5th weekend. Response time for call is 20 minutes. Holiday on-call requirements may vary.
