ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGER

Accounts Payable ManagerThe Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Accounts Payable process. The primary focus is overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department and to ensure accuracy, proper authorization and approval, and reasonableness of general ledger coding and payment of payables in a timely manner. Strong organization, communication and customer service skills are crucial. Strong ability to multi-task many and sometimes conflicting demands.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesManagement, development, and training of the Accounts Payable teamEnsure that A/P meets all closing responsibilities in a timely manner including: AP closing, period-end accruals, completion of checklists, account reconciliation, and invoice reviewEvaluation, development and recommendation of process improvements to increase efficiency, and to enhance internal and external customer serviceControl and maintenance over the AP Master Vendor file, including ensuring all active vendors have a completed Form W-9Participating in the month-end closing processReconciliations to the general ledgerDirect and coordinate all AP activities (check proposal, check issuance, process wire transfers and letters of credit, etc.)Daily problem resolution including problem invoices and vendorsPerform vendor analyses as requested by management (payments by vendors, etc)Assist Treasury in Cash Management (prepare daily cash report)Additional Responsibilities:Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and managementDemonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearanceAdheres to all Company Policies & Procedures and Safety RegulationsAdhere to local, state and federal lawsAdditional responsibilities assigned by supervisor related to your position/departmentAbility to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessaryModel the "St. John Way"Supervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises the entire Accounts Payable teamProvides coaching, direction, develops and empowers direct reportsEnsures work flow and processes are to maximum efficiencies for business necessityOrganizational RelationshipsInteracts with all departments as well as outside vendorsMinimum Qualifications:The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.Education/Experience:Five years of experience in accounting or accounts payableBachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration or a directly related fieldExcellent knowledge of basic accounting principles and proven reconciliation skillsDemonstrated proficiency in NetSuite and Zone Capture is required for this roleWorking knowledge of MS Office including strong Excel abilitiesDesired Characteristics:Detail oriented, critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal skills, collaborative team player, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work under constantly changing circumstances and able to quickly adapt to shifting deadlines/timelinesDemonstrates strong grasp of time and operations management and understands value of prioritization and comfortable with communicating changes in anticipated deliverable datesAbility to think outside the box and constantly find ways to improve ongoing processesPhysical Demands:Must be able to see, hear and speak in order to communicate with employees and other customersSpecific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusManual dexterity required using hands to finger; handle, feel and type; reach with hands and armsMust be able to lift, move and carry up to 20 lbsWork Environment:The work space is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated with the proper safety acknowledgmentNoise levels are considered moderateSt. John reserves the right at any time, with or without notice, to alter or change job responsibilities, reassign or transfer job position or assign additional job responsibilities within your general skill set or capabilities.
