Amazon is seeking Transportation Operations Managers to work in our sites across the country. The Transportation Operations Manager has complete responsibility for transportation operations at a number of sites within a pre‑defined region of the country. This position requires a candidate with proven ability to drive process improvements, keep pace with our growth, and motivate others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline‑driven environment. Supervisory Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of Transportation Area Managers located within the individual sites to streamline logistics in each operation. Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of the region. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals. Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; resolve problems; address staffing needs. Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning. Develop and share best practices across shifts and network. Travel up to 50% may be required. Flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of employee and performance management experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience. Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience. Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 70+ indirect employees. Experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma. Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical skills. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Track record of meeting or exceeding department performance goals. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field. Experience in military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production, or distribution environments.
