And we’re just getting started!OverviewThe Scrum Master is responsible for managing project teams to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions for Planet Fitness members, Franchisees, and Club Support Center team members. The Scrum Master efficiently and effectively plans and manages discreet, well-defined project initiatives from inception to completion. The Scrum Master also ensures teams are adhering to delivery processes and standards to drive a culture of quality, consistency, predictability, and reliability. The Scrum Master is a dynamic team member with the ability to lead high-performing teams, drive initiatives to high-quality and timely completion, effectively communicate will all levels of the organization, and adapt to changes in a fast-paced, date driven environment.This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires regular, in-person work at our Boston, MA or Hampton, NH office. Our hybrid model is M/T/W in office and TH/F are optional work-from-home. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of one of these locations. Fully remote work is not available for this role.ResponsibilitiesManages project delivery teams focused on delivering technology solutions for Planet Fitness members, franchisees, and the Club Support Center.Facilitates daily stand-ups, iteration/sprint planning, sprint reviews, and iteration/sprint retrospectives.Guides teams in work estimation best practices and facilitates team estimation process.Collaborates with Product Management team to understand project scope, product features, and business priorities to ensure proper prioritization and execution of team backlog.Collaborates with Product Managers and Technology Leads to resolve problems and remove project roadblocks.Collaborates with PMO team to understand and adhere to portfolio and program management processes and support status reporting, risk and issue management, and communications processes for senior leadership.Communicates project delivery risks and trade-off considerations where and when appropriate.Proactively escalates risks, issues and blockers to leadership in a timely manner to minimize impact to delivery timelines.Maintains team and project management artifacts using the required tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, etc.).Collaborates with PMO and Technology leadership on the team capabilities, skills, and staffing required for successful project delivery.Ensures accurate time tracking by team members for budget management and tracking.Executes effective, accurate, appropriate, and timely communication to PMO, Product Management, and Technology leadership to ensure business outcomes and objectives are met.Provides content and input for project presentations and updates to management and other stakeholders where applicable.Instills a sense of urgency and mutual responsibility within project teams to achieve business goals and meet expected outcomes.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Project Manager leading a scrum/project delivery team responsible for delivering projects of low to moderate complexity in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environmentCSM certification preferred, PMP certification a plusConsulting experience a plusExperience working in a franchisor/franchisee company environment a plusWorking knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (e.g., definition of done, user stories, sprint planning, backlog refinement)Working knowledge of agile metrics (e.g., task management, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, team velocity, user stories, etc.) to analyze and improve sprint planning and project deliveryWorking knowledge of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental developmentExperience training teams on agile methodology and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)Experience using a variety of project delivery approaches including traditional project management and Agile (Scrum, Kanban) methodologiesPossess an understanding of enterprise technology infrastructure, software development & maintenance, application integrations, mobile software and IOS development, software testing, and IT architectureExperience identifying, managing, and mitigating risks and issues impeding project deliveryAbility to perform a range of functions including business systems analysis, business and technical requirements definition, software testing, data validation and process improvementExcellent critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and consensus building skills with experience resolving conflict and challenging situations in a productive mannerAbility to be flexible and adaptable with a focus on disciplined execution to ensure quality of deliverables, adherence to standards, and continuous improvement of processes and toolsAbility to garner trust among project team members and stakeholdersWorking knowledge of IT productivity tools such as Confluence, Jira, Slack, and SmartsheetExtremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectivesExcellent presentation and communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organizationAble to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externallyDedicated learner with a natural curiosity for consistent growthExhibits comfort, ease, and flexibility working in an extremely fast-paced ever-changing, deadline-driven environmentCooperative team player with an upbeat, positive, “can-do” attitude!PerksPlanet Fitness cares about you and your well-being.
