Key Responsibilities of the Cath Lab Tech - Cardiac Cath Lab

• Perform cardiac and interventional procedures in accordance with established protocols.
• Prepare and orient patients to procedures to be performed.
• Provide radiation protection to patients, fellow workers, and self.
• Operate imaging equipment, computer, and other department equipment.
• Maintain and operate equipment per department and manufacturer recommendations.
• Prepare and maintain documentation according to department and hospital policy.
• Maintain supplies and accessories in the work area regularly.
• Ensure orderliness and cleanliness in the work area.
• Participate in professional continuing educational workshops and programs.
• Provide coverage after normal hours of operation on an on-call basis.
• Perform Point of Care testing procedures.
• Exhibit behaviors that promote patient/customer satisfaction, and effective communication and teamwork.

Requirements of the Cath Lab Tech - Cardiac Cath Lab

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
• ARRT or Board eligible, New Mexico State licensure required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Thorough knowledge of associated radiographic equipment, medical terminology, and basic computer skills.
• Experience with interventional procedures in Cardiology and Radiology preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• One year radiologic experience preferred.
