Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift | 36 hours guaranteed per week, 12-hour shifts | Every other weekend and major holidays required

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate nursing interventions for obstetrical patients
• Provide high-acuity Labor & Delivery nursing care including management of patients with HELLP syndrome, preterm labor, substance use disorder, and chronic conditions affecting pregnancy
• Administer and monitor magnesium drips and manage peripheral IV lines; perform proficient IV starts
• Perform continuous electronic fetal monitoring and conduct vaginal exams; circulate for vaginal and cesarean deliveries as needed
• Collaborate with an interprofessional care team to coordinate safe, patient-centered care and advocate for patient and family needs
• Float to Mother/Baby unit on an occasional basis as staffing needs require

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Virginia or valid compact license
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Demonstrated fetal monitoring experience (certification not required)
• Must be able to circulate for deliveries (scrub experience not required)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred; minimum of 2 completed travel assignments ideal
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Inpatient OB, Electronic Fetal Monitoring, or Maternal Newborn Nursing certification from the National Certification Corporation
