Sr. Manager, Credit Risk Analytics

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Manager, Credit Risk Analytics based in the United States. This role sits at the core of a fast-evolving consumer lending and credit card portfolio, where advanced analytics directly shape risk performance, portfolio growth, and customer outcomes. You will lead the development and optimization of credit strategies across the full lifecycle, balancing growth objectives with disciplined risk management. The position combines hands‑on analytical leadership with strategic decision‑making, leveraging machine learning models, credit data, and experimentation frameworks to enhance portfolio performance. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance teams to design and implement scalable, automated credit decisioning systems. A key part of the role involves monitoring portfolio health, identifying emerging risk trends, and translating insights into actionable strategy improvements. You will also ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal risk appetite while driving innovation in credit policy and decision systems. This is a high‑impact role for a leader who thrives in data‑driven environments and enjoys solving complex financial risk challenges in a fast‑paced fintech setting. Accountabilities: Develop, enhance, and optimize credit risk strategies across credit card and consumer lending portfolios using advanced analytics, ML/AI models, and statistical techniques. Own end‑to‑end credit lifecycle management, ensuring portfolio performance aligns with risk appetite, profitability targets, and regulatory requirements. Design and evaluate A/B tests and experimentation frameworks to assess risk‑return trade‑offs and improve decisioning strategies. Analyze portfolio performance at a granular segment level to identify key drivers, emerging risks, and opportunities for optimization. Translate analytical findings into actionable strategy recommendations for senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders. Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance teams to implement and operationalize credit strategies. Conduct credit loss forecasting and stress testing to support capital planning and risk management decisions. Identify, evaluate, and onboard new data sources and vendors to enhance credit decisioning capabilities. Ensure credit strategies comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Perform ad‑hoc deep‑dive analyses across risk, product, and operational areas to support business decisions. Requirements: Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. 8+ years of experience in credit risk analytics, including acquisition and portfolio management for credit cards and/or personal loans. 3+ years of people leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to develop and guide analytical teams. Strong expertise in credit risk modeling, portfolio analytics, and data‑driven decision systems. Hands‑on experience with machine learning models, advanced analytics, and statistical modeling techniques. Proven ability to translate complex business problems into structured analytical frameworks and actionable insights. Experience with credit loss forecasting, stress testing, and risk appetite management. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to executive and cross‑functional audiences. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment with strong ownership and accountability. Collaborative mindset with experience working across product, engineering, and compliance teams.
