Job Title

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Holidays and every other weekend required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a higher-acuity medical-surgical/telemetry unit managing diagnoses including stroke, seizures, post-operative neuro surgeries, level 2 trauma, post-ICU level 1 trauma, DKA, renal failure, and general post-operative care
• Perform comprehensive neuro assessments and apply critical thinking skills to monitor and respond to changes in patient condition
• Manage drains, chest tubes, and groin sites following interventional radiology procedures
• Deliver post-surgical care in a 24-bed unit with a patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1
• Float to other units as required
• Document patient care accurately using the facility's electronic medical records system

Required Qualifications

• Active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Background in neuro-surgical, telemetry, or high-acuity medical-surgical nursing environments
