What we are looking for NextCare Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Radiology Technologist that likes the challenge of a fast pace setting and working in a team environment. Primary Responsibilities The Radiology Technologist/X-Ray Tech is responsible for performing patient care duties under the Radiology scope of practice in the urgent care setting as follows: Performs radiology duties within the scope of practice as stated in NextCare Policies and Procedures, as well as the state appropriate Radiation Rules and Regulations. Assists provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision of the Provider and within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant. Administers all forms of medications per policy and Provider direction and adheres to all safety protocols and procedures for medication administration. May be responsible for urine collection for various testing to include employer drug screens May perform splinting and casting Conduct various type physicals such as sports physicals Performs other related duties specific to urgent care such as wound care and oxygen administration. Notifies the provider on duty promptly of all unusual patient occurrences including medication events on an incident report. Promptly notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns. Follows guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies. Must be proficient in EMR/EHR Performs other related duties as assigned or described by Company policy. Additional Laboratory Responsibilities May Include Analytical Testing: Perform moderate-complexity clinical testing across authorized disciplines (e.g., Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis) in strict accordance with the laboratory's COLA-approved SOP manual. Quality Control & Calibration: Execute and document daily instrument calibrations, quality control (QC) tracking, and corrective actions for out-of-range values prior to reporting patient results. COLA Inspection Readiness: Maintain orderly, verifiable, and audit-ready logs for all pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical activities to ensure seamless biennial COLA on-site surveys. Competency & Training: Participate in mandatory, documented competency assessments (semiannually in the first year of employment, and annually thereafter) covering all six CLIA-mandated elements. Proficiency Testing (PT): Successfully test and document blind proficiency testing samples exactly like patient specimens, adhering to strict anti-commingling regulations. Specimen & EMR Processing: Accession, process, centrifuge, and evaluate sample integrity, reporting data accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Critical Value Notification: Promptly recognize critical, life-threatening results and follow immediate notification protocols to the attending healthcare provider. How you will make an impact The Radiology Technologist supports the organization with customer service and treating all of our patients with respect and dignity. They provide patient care services in the back office urgent care setting, which will meet the specific needs of the patient. Essential Education, Experience and Skills Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; AND diploma or certificate from an accredited radiology school and/or equivalent experience.
