Grocery Clerk Afternoon/Evening Shift

McKinnon's is seeking a dependable, hardworking grocery clerk to join our Danvers team. Our greatest need is for 3:008:00 p.m. shifts, although additional hours may be available based on the needs of the grocery department.

In this role, you'll help keep our shelves stocked, displays organized and customers well served. The ideal candidate enjoys staying active, works well with others and takes pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming store.

Responsibilities

• Stock and organize grocery shelves, bulk bins, frozen foods and dairy cases
• Break down deliveries and move products from the back room to the sales floor
• Rotate merchandise and maintain neat, orderly back-stock areas
• Face shelves and keep aisles clean and presentable
• Sweep floors and help maintain a safe shopping environment
• Build promotional displays and request appropriate signage
• Assist customers in finding products throughout the store
• Record, expedite and retrieve customer special orders
• Offer carry-out assistance when appropriate
• Respond promptly to grocery department pages and requests
• Follow all company policies and applicable health and safety requirements
• Safely operate box cutters, balers and other department equipment
• Assist with training new grocery associates when needed
• Perform other grocery department duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Availability to work afternoon and evening shifts, particularly 3:008:00 p.m.
• Friendly, helpful attitude and a commitment to excellent customer service
• Dependable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to learn about the products carried throughout the department
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting
• Willingness to learn the proper use of department tools and equipment
• Previous retail or grocery experience is a plus, but not required
