Registered Nurse, CARE Cardiac Cath Holding Care Unit

Overview Registered Nurse – Cath Holding Department at Sentara Heart Hospital, Norfolk, VA. Location Norfolk, VA Work Shift First (Days) Duties & Responsibilities The unit operates Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, closed on major holidays. The 30‑bed unit prepares and recovers patients for procedures in the Cath lab, EP lab, minor procedure room, and cardiac operating room. Average patient volume is approximately 40–50 patients per day. Patients include those undergoing cardiac catheterization (interventional and diagnostic), electrophysiology procedures such as cardiac ablations, cardioversions, surgery, and ICDs/PACEs. Registered Nurses must have at least 1 year of bedside nursing experience; telemetry‑cardiac experience is preferred. RN performs nursing care in accordance with the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) and adheres to standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, resource utilization, environmental health).
