Accounting Intern

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Our core assets provide services for customers in the Delaware Basin in West Texas and New Mexico, and the DJ Basin in northeastern Colorado, and the Powder River Basin in Northeast Wyoming. Additional assets and investments are located in South Texas, Utah, and Southwest Wyoming. We’re engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs) and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, recycling, treating and disposing of produced water for our customers. In our capacity as a natural gas processor, we also buy and sell natural gas, NGLs, and condensate on our behalf and our customers under certain gas processing contracts. Job Summary This 10-week internship will provide accounting support to multiple departments at our Corporate Office. As an intern, you'll receive on-the-job training and gain proficiency through a variety of work. Your assignments will focus on technical mastery, project-team skills, business understanding and building user relationships. Key Responsibilities: Gain exposure to multiple facets of the energy industry from both corporate and operational accounting departments including internal controls, internal audit, financial accounting, financial reporting, revenue, and property. Assist assigned department in day-to-day activities and special projects as assigned Qualifications: Must be authorized to work in the United States of America Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 High level of enthusiasm and professionalism Ability to quickly adapt and work within multiple teams Awareness of and demonstration of Western Midstream’s Core Values Ability to apply independent judgment to implement practical applications of educations Ability to prepare and present the results of research and analysis, verbally and in writing Enrollment in Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. Candidates must have completed their sophomore or junior year of an Accounting degree program prior to the start of their employment. The ideal candidate will have completed Intermediate Accounting I and II. Travel Requirements The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%. Work Schedule This position utilizes a Hybrid work schedule: Monday–Thursday (9-hour days) and Friday (4-hour day), with occasional flexibility for business needs.
