L&I IT System Administrator - Senior/Specialist

Salary: $94,620 - 127,248 per year Requirements:

• We require 10 years of qualifying professional system administration experience in a professional IT environment, including installing and supporting servers and applications in an enterprise network and troubleshooting complex network and application issues. A bachelors degree in IT, computer science, business administration, or a related field may substitute for up to four years of experience; an associates degree in these fields may substitute for up to two years.
• We expect the ability to learn and grow, and to take action to meet the needs of others.
• We prefer experience creating, modifying, and troubleshooting scripts and workflows; experience with Azure; and relevant technology certifications, including Microsoft certifications.
• We require successful candidates to have work authorization that does not require employer sponsorship now or in the future. A background check, including a criminal history record check, is also required before placement.

• Lead the operation, maintenance, support, and administration of enterprise Active Directory Domain Services, including DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy; direct technical assignments and projects, mentor staff, and review proposed changes for accuracy.
• Partner with infrastructure architects, customers, and IT project teams to provide enterprise architecture guidance and coordinate projects affecting agency-wide, interagency, and statewide systems.
• Engineer applications and processes, analyze and implement enterprise IT solutions aligned with organizational needs, and resolve challenges throughout system lifecycles.
• Work with WaTech and L&I teams, including Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, and Information Governance, to address data governance, public records, and data retention needs.
• Monitor, administer, configure, implement, and maintain identity and domain services, including Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, and PKI; perform domain administration and remediate domain controller alerts.
• Verify server and workstation organizational unit placement, correct anomalies, ensure domain controllers are patched, manage DNS records, and serve as the primary Active Directory escalation point for the Service Desk.
• Implement Active Directory Federation Services and Azure enterprise applications.
• Provide expert technical administration for the coordination, installation, and promotion of agency-wide mission-critical systems, maintaining the computing environment in accordance with security requirements and standards.
• Monitor identity and access management systems for vendor patches and work with technical leads and subject matter experts to plan and implement applications, upgrades, critical updates, and changes to architecture, processes, and procedures.
