New Home Sales Consultant

Role Description The New Home Sales Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in one of our community sales offices in our service area. This position is responsible for guiding prospective buyers through the home purchasing process, including welcoming visitors to model homes, conducting tours, and explaining community features, floor plans, and available options. The consultant will manage the sales pipeline from initial inquiry to contract, prepare and present pricing information, and support buyers in selecting standard and custom features. Daily activities include responding to leads, maintaining detailed records in the sales system, coordinating with construction and design teams, and ensuring accurate documentation. Must be able to financially qualify prospects and consult with lending institutions to complete the sales process. The role also involves following up with potential buyers, and providing a professional, informative experience that aligns with Houston Homes’ service standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong New Home Sales and Sales skills, including managing a sales process from lead generation to closing. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in home sales is required. Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to build rapport, listen carefully, and address questions and concerns effectively. Candidates should possess Negotiation skills to support buyers in making informed decisions and to secure mutually beneficial agreements. Candidates should possess Training-related skills, enabling effective participation in sales training and the ability to share product knowledge with customers. Relevant qualifications include experience in residential real estate or home building sales, familiarity with St. Louis/St. Charles area housing markets. Must be able to commute to work in-person at one of our community sales offices. Additional beneficial qualifications include strong communication and presentation skills, proficiency with basic computer and CRM systems, reliable transportation, and a valid driver’s license. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred. Must be able to work full-time, on-site including weekends, with two (2) consecutive days off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
