We are seeking a motivated Quality Control Laboratory Technician to contribute to our mission supporting our work at Centrus Energy in Oak Ridge, TN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Carry out accurate analyses using standard test methods and deliver timely, reliable data
2. Operate analytical instruments (balances, ovens, wet chemistry tools, tensile testing equipment, and more)
3. Keep laboratory equipment calibrated and functioning at peak performance
4. Record results in lab logbooks, worksheets, and information systems
5. Verify data to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standard
6. Collaborate with engineers and managers to communicate findings
7. Document, investigate, and help resolve nonconformance issues
8. Identify and troubleshoot abnormal inspection results or equipment inconsistencies
9. Conduct Measurement System Analysis to support data integrity
10. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment
11. Follow all safety policies and promote safe work habits
12. Train new team members on QC test methods and procedures
13. Monitor supply inventory and initiate reorders as needed
14. Contribute to additional project work as assigned

Education and Licensure

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or similar; OR
• Associate degree in chemical technology (or equivalent) with 1+ year QC lab experience; OR
• High School diploma with 3+ years of QC lab experience

• Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.

• Strong understanding of laboratory equipment, analytical techniques, and data reporting
• Ability to perform basic calibration tasks
• Solid math skills (averages, percentages, metric conversions)
• Basic knowledge of statistical techniques and data trend evaluation
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment, chemical handling, and safe lab practices
• Ability to write clear procedures and reports
• Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to following SOPs
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications and Location Details

• Active Q clearance.
• Experience with gravimetric analysis and tensile testing
• NQA-1 and/or DOE related experience.
• Onsite position – Oak Ridge, TN
• Position will be initial W2 contract with conversion and/or extension options.
