JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB GOAL:

Provide training and support to instructional staff to improve instructional effectiveness and student performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
2. Holds valid Florida Educator certificate.
3. Five (5) years of successful teaching experience or equivalent.
4. Prior related experience in leadership, program management, and/or teacher training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Communicate effectively with teachers regarding best teaching practices. Communicate effectively with administrators regarding assistance provided. Promote instructional best practices via effective teacher training and coaching. Develop and oversee program budget, development and implementation. Calculate and analyze statistical data

SUPERVISES:

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Consult with faculties and supervisory staffs in design and implementation of inservice programs, identification of resources, budget preparation, and evaluation.
2. Deepen educators' content knowledge, provide them with research-based instructional strategies to assist students in meeting rigorous academic standards, and prepare them to use various types of classroom assessments appropriately.
3. Design, develop, coordinate, implement, evaluate, and provide follow up for a program of instruction for teachers in effective classroom instructional methods and practices.
4. Analyze instructional needs to determine appropriate training outcomes and develop training programs based on the needs.
5. Coordinate, evaluate, and provide follow up for training of trainers for teacher training programs.
6. Coordinate, provide, and evaluate induction programs for newly hired teachers.
7. Facilitate communication with the Florida Department of Education regarding support of teacher certification programs.
8. Facilitate communication with universities and colleges regarding pre-service training and intern placement.
9. Coordinate the placement of interns and pre-interns with district instructional staff.
10. Coordinate training for para-professional instruction personnel.
11. Provide targeted teacher assistance as requested.
12. Assist with the development of the Master Inservice Educational Training Plan and other department publications.
13. Coordinate the operation of inservice teacher education programs by arranging for trainers, facilitators, supplies, materials, and equipment.
14. Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of Professional Education Courses.
15. Coordinate the collection of Inservice Participation Record forms from all persons conducting inservice training education programs. Maintain control over the completeness and accuracy of information of the Inservice Participation Records.
16. Organize adults into learning communities whose goals are aligned with those of the school and district.
17. Use multiple sources of information to guide improvement and demonstrate its impact.
18. Develop and manage specific programs as designed.
19. Assume such other general responsibilities as may be assigned by the director.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
