Quality Control Manager - Structural Steel Fabrication (On-Site)

A respected structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking a senior-level Quality Control Manager to lead shop-based quality operations at their fabrication facility in Westville, NJ (just west of Philadelphia). This is an on-site leadership role focused strictly on quality oversight within a 20-person fabrication shop.

This position is ideal for a seasoned steel professional with strong AWS/CWI credentials , deep AISC knowledge, and hands-on experience developing welding procedures and quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee all quality control functions within the fabrication shop

* Ensure compliance with AISC certification requirements and industry standards

* Develop, write, and maintain welding procedures and quality manuals

* Maintain and enforce WPS, PQR, and welding documentation

* Monitor fabrication processes to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications

* Coordinate inspections and maintain QA/QC records

* Interface with project management, detailing, and shop leadership

* Support continuous improvement of shop quality processes

Qualifications

* AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required

* Senior-level experience in structural steel fabrication quality control

* Demonstrated experience writing welding manuals, procedures, and WPS documentation

* Strong working knowledge of AISC standards and certification requirements

* Ability to interpret structural drawings and specifications

* Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills

Preferred

* Experience working in an AISC-certified fabrication shop

* Familiarity with bolting, welding, and steel QA/QC compliance standards

* Experience supporting third-party audits and inspections

Compensation & Benefits

* Salary: $110k to $140k DOE
