Medical Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's healthcare facility in New York, NY 10016.

Job Details:
Schedule: Monday-Thursday: 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM and Friday: 7:45 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: New York, NY 10016 .
Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: 6+ Months (Possibility of extension or conversion )
Pay Range: $21 to $23/hour*
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.


Duties:

• Provide direct patient care and support physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals during examinations and procedures.
• Escort and room patients in a timely manner while ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Obtain and document vital signs, vision screenings, and other authorized clinical assessments.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection, ensuring accurate labeling and laboratory processing.
• Process specimens for transport and maintain proper documentation in EPIC.
• Prepare electronic prescriptions for physician review and processing.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain clinical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
• Communicate patient needs and concerns effectively to the healthcare team.
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and organizational policies.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Certification(s): Current BLS Certification.
• Years of experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting. Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Skills/Specialties/Technology: Knowledge of EPIC or other electronic medical record systems And Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
