We are all employee-owners at HDR, which is the foundation of our collaborative culture that connects employees around the world.In the role of Construction Manager II, we'll count on you to: Take responsibility for subcontractor coordination, scheduling and quality control relating to substation facilities within rail transit systems in the Northern CA Bay Area.Develop procedures for executing such activities, and implement procedures in coordination with the construction management/project teamPerform additional construction management activities, including development procurement - construction schedules, construction subcontract scopes, review of subcontract terms and conditions, performance of constructability and value engineering reviews, construction estimating and schedule reviews, and project construction performance presentationsAdminister and manage construction activitiesMonitor progress of the overall design as related to construction requirementsPerform value engineering and constructability reviewsCoordinate local bidding efforts for quotes obtained in the fieldAssist in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packagesCoordinate, expedite and reviewing construction submittalsControl the project budget and scheduleCoordinate and manage project quality assurance and control, and inspection servicesEnsure subcontractor compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspectionsPrepare and update project schedules, pay requests, and daily, weekly, and monthly progress, budget, and schedule management reportsCommunicates with internal and external stakeholdersTake responsibility for project setup and temporary facilitiesPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications A minimum of 15 years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management, including but not limited to estimating, bidding, preparing and administering purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, cost control, etc. preferredConstruction or design certifications, PMP, and/or CCM. PE licensure desired but not required.Prior rail transit agency or related experiencePrior experience on projects involving communication/electrical systems integration OR prior experience on projects involving electrical systems/power distribution OR experience on projects involving electrical/mechanical systems or conveyancesExperience with estimating software (Timberline), scheduling software (Primavera P3 or SureTrak), and project management software (Prolog)Ability to interpret construction schedulesThis position is subject to a governmental background checkThis position is subject to a pre-employment drug testQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science or closely related field or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 10 years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management, including but not limited to construction contracts; document, time, cost, and quality management; change management; and site safety. estimating, bidding, preparing and administering purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, cost control, etc. Experience with Microsoft Office Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Prolog, Primavera, Bluebeam, etc. Must have strong people skills and the ability to interact with the Owner, Engineer, Contractor and other project stakeholders An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustSponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.What We BelieveHDR is our company.
