Security Alarm Service Technician

The Security Service Technician is responsible for independently performing service and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms access control CCTV and other low-voltage systems. The technician ensures systems operate properly meets customer expectations and supports compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Independently perform service troubleshooting repair inspection and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms access control CCTV and related low-voltage systems.

• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.

• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes standards and customer requirements.

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.

• Read and interpret blueprints wiring diagrams system layouts and technical manuals.

• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely.

• Complete service documentation inspection reports and work orders accurately and on time.

• Communicate professionally with customers team members and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.

• Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements

• Travel to job sites as required.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 3 years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.

• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record if driving role.

• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms access control CCTV and low-voltage systems.

• Ability to work independently and complete standard service jobs without direct supervision.

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Other Duties:

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct Confidentiality Agreement and Company Safety Policy.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• 5 years of security alarm and fire alarm experience is required.

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting climbing ladders and working in various environments.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

• Work performed in commercial industrial and construction environments.

• Exposure to varying conditions including heights confined spaces and active job sites.

• Use of hand tools and testing equipment.

• Ability to stand walk bend and kneel for extended periods.

Pay Rate:

$35-$45 hourly based on experience.
