Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma or its equivalent and five (5) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work, regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, business administration, customer or public relations or investigations; or An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals five (5) years can substitute for the above requirements; or A bachelor's degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work, regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, business administration, customer or public relations or investigations.
Educational Note: Graduates utilizing education attained in the United States to meet the minimum requirements of a position will not be appointed until verification of the applicable degree has been obtained. Foreign trained graduates utilizing a degree attained outside of the United States to meet the minimum requirements of a position must be prepared to provide a copy of a credential evaluation conducted by an Approved Credential Evaluation Agency.

Job Duties: Supervises staff to ensure customers enjoy a high-quality experience with the division. Ensures that the acceptance of applications and fees, issuance of temporary firearm licenses, and acceptance of payment of fines is conducted in an efficient and courteous manner. Monitors work performance of subordinates, provides counseling to develop skills and correct deficiencies, approves timesheets and leave requests, completes performance evaluations, and recommends timely disciplinary actions as needed. Receives and examines temporary Class "G" Statewide Firearms License applications and associated attachments to determine licensure eligibility and compliance with statutory requirements and issues temporary licenses as appropriate. Provides guidance to applicants, licensees, agency owners, law enforcement agency personnel and the general public regarding non-routine and technical licensure matters. Interprets statutory requirements and provides information on divisional licensing procedures. Performs non-routine, technical, and administrative assignments, providing necessary administrative support to the regional supervisor. Composes correspondence and prepares memoranda and as needed. Maintains files, screens calls and handles elevated calls when appropriate. Receives and routes mail and schedules meetings and appointments. Assists regional supervisor with establishing and updating procedures to ensure maximum productivity. Examines, logs and processes all administrative fine and license application revenue. Ensures that division and Comptroller procedures are followed regarding all financial transactions. Intake of Subpoena request from Circuit of court. Respond to request by calling dedicated phone number on subpoena. Email all incoming subpoenas to DOL Records Analyst. Respond to emails from Clerks office and Records Analyst. Review Documents before appearing in court. Arrange Transport to courthouse. Responsible and accountable for assisting in the management of budget/dollars/resources (staff, computers, cell phones, etc.) for any assigned programs. Responsible for ensuring that assigned program areas have operational procedures and processes which result in accountability and compliance with division and department policies and procedures. Performs related work and assists in other areas as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication. Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Knowledge of basic computer operations. Knowledge of Chapter 493 and section 790.06, FS.
