You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history!Export Control LicenseThis position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.Key job responsibilities- Develop deep expertise in the drone-delivery workflow and continuously drive workflow and drone-flight scheduling optimizations to improve delivery speed and overall throughput.- Design and build scalable, highly available distributed systems that meet strict performance, reliability, extensibility, and maintainability standards.- Drive improvements in code quality, design patterns, and engineering best practices, mentoring junior engineers and raising the technical bar for the team.- Collaborate with PMs, internal customers, and partner teams to define technical requirements, clarify trade-offs, and deliver customer-focused outcomes.- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform deep root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes to improve system stability and operational health.Basic qualifications- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related fieldPreferred qualification - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent- Experience communicating with customers, technical, regulatory, business teams, and management to collect requirements, describe product features, and technical designs- Experience with programming, design, architecture with AWS or other cloud technologiesAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
