Collections Specialist Raynham, Massachusetts, United States – Accounting/Finance About this Position The Collections Specialist ensures timely payment of consumer loans and manages all collection activities. This role involves preparing delinquency reports, overseeing loan modifications, handling credit reporting disputes, and supporting legal collections efforts. Responsibilities Aggregate data from various sources to prepare monthly delinquency reports for the department and credit committee. Prepare and update residential & consumer Watch List reports monthly. Track and report on residential & consumer loan modifications. Conduct regular oversight of DMI, including problem resolution; delinquency monitoring and assistance with third‑party vendor oversight. Generate monthly DMI oversight reports for management. Monitor and resolve consumer credit reporting disputes via the e‑Oscar system. Monitor and report on all bankruptcy notices received. Follow Fair Debt Collection rules and manage consumer collection efforts, contacting past‑due customers via telephone and mail; explain options and recommend resolution when collection efforts fail. Assist with reporting on past‑due real estate taxes for consumer and commercial loans, utilizing data from tax service company. Recommend charge‑offs for approval at credit committee and process charge‑offs once approved. Prepare documents as needed for foreclosure and other advanced delinquency matters. Reconcile General Ledger accounts monthly. Monitor and reconcile outsourced insurance & real estate tax tracking invoices monthly, including adding/deleting accounts for force‑placed insurance. Perform additional duties as requested. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Three or more years of experience working in banking, loan servicing, or collections; bank collections experience strongly preferred. Excellent understanding of department policies and the loan systems used in daily operations, including FIS, DMI, and Sageworks preferred. Excellent understanding of applicable consumer debt collection laws and policies. Strong understanding of financial institution products and services, with emphasis on mortgage lending preferred. Self‑starter, good at prioritizing, possesses strong customer service, and excellent communication skills. Established organizational and analytical skills.
