About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PACU License: Must have an active nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Peds experience strongly preferred Must have charting system experience Description: RN - PACU position available in an outpatient surgery center. A start date is strongly preferred. No call, weekends, or holidays required. Requests for time off should not exceed 2-3 consecutive weekdays. Experience with pediatric patients is strongly preferred. Candidates will be expected to handle ambulatory and outpatient cases. Knowledge of Phase I PACU protocols is necessary. Candidates should be skilled in pain assessment and management. Familiarity with various procedures such as ENT, ophthalmology, and orthopedic surgeries is essential. Recognition and management of dysrhythmias are required. Experience with narcotics and opioid analgesics is necessary. Candidates must be trained in the use of reversal agents and conscious sedation protocols. Management of malignant hyperthermia protocol must be understood. Candidates should be able to perform airway assessments and placement of oral/nasal airways. Familiarity with emergency medications and pediatric patient management is required.
