Phlebotomist

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and providing excellent patient care in a professional healthcare environment on behalf of our client.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
• Verify patient information and label specimens accurately.
• Prepare and transport specimens according to established procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist patients by answering questions and helping them feel comfortable during procedures.
• Document patient information and collection details accurately.
• Collaborate with clinical and laboratory staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy or patient care experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.

Skills

• Either MA or Phlebotomy experience.
• Experience taking manual blood pressure.
• Phlebotomy certification or MA Diploma/certification.
