Overnight Shift Leader

Overview We’re looking for passionate people ready to collaborate, develop and be leaders. As an Overnight Grocery Team Leader with Wegmans, you’ll join the largest area of the store, playing an integral part in the success of the overnight operations team, ensuring each team member is working towards replenishment of products to meet the daytime needs of our customers. Responsibilities Manage employee performance by providing resources, training, feedback and development opportunities Proactively deliver incredible customer service during the overnight hours Help to problem solve operational challenges while maintaining open two‑way communication with managers Coordinate activities, prioritize tasks and ensure the operation runs efficiently for your team Required Qualifications 1 or more years of work experience or a college degree Computer skills Customer Service experience, preferably in a food service industry, grocery or retail setting Managerial/supervisory experience living our values and achieving results in our 5 measures Experience working overnight hours Experience coordinating daily work of others Experience ordering products and controlling inventory Preferred Qualifications Experience leading a team Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new situations and subject matters Work Environment The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, frequent heavy lifting, shelving of product, repetitive hand, and arm movements, bending, and reaching, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers. The average weight range of items lifted is 8 – 32 pounds with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors. Basic tools and equipment used include box cutter, hand/power jack, walkie reach/hi‑lo, compactor, baler, and u‑cart.
