CAPTAIN, CATERING - GREATER COLUMBUS CONVENTION CENTER

Position Title [[title]] Pay Range $21.00 to $21.00 Job Summary Coordinates catering staff schedules to ensure all functions are delivered, served and cleared in a timely fashion. Prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Banquets Director. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Determines workload requirements from catering orders. Meet with teams to discuss setup arrangements; address last‑minute changes and resolve problems. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service‑oriented manner. Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items. Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions. Help staff set up rooms to desired specifications. Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations. Serve food and beverages to guests. Return food, beverages, serving equipment and utensils to the catering facility. Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards. Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils. Ensure proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards. Position requires long hours based on events at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Perform other duties as assigned.
