Position: General Cardiologist (PRN)

Inpatient Call Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinic duties

• Interpreting echocardiograms, vascular studies, and nuclear studies (if qualified)

• Administrative responsibilities

• Support from Advanced Practice Providers (APP)

• Utilization of the Epic EMR system

• Options for virtual consultations

Key Responsibilities:

1. Facilitates coordinated, multidisciplinary care for all patients to enhance their treatment experience.
2. Evaluates patient medical records to diagnose, treat, and manage care while educating patients and their families.
3. Refers patients to specialists as needed.
4. Adheres to care management guidelines to ensure compliance with established protocols.
5. Delivers evidence-based, compassionate care to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction, demonstrating a patient-centered approach.
6. Collaborates effectively with referring physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support personnel to ensure high-quality patient care.
7. Engages in academic, educational, and research initiatives.
8. Participates in Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings actively.
9. Communicates effectively to foster a positive brand and patient experience for all stakeholders, including staff, vendors, patients, and community leaders.
10. Acts as a resource for the community.
11. Performs additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Essential Education and Experience:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.

• Completion of an Internal Medicine residency from an accredited ACGME program.

• Completion of a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship from an accredited program.

• 1-2 years of experience in General Cardiology is preferred.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

• Board eligible or board certified in the specialty.

• Valid Texas Medical License.
