Job DetailsWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Software Asset Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the HPC Governance and Compliance Director, this role will support the management and optimization of software assets across the organization. You will play a key role in ensuring software license compliance, maintaining accurate inventories, supporting audits, and driving cost optimization initiatives.This position works closely with sourcing, procurement, IT operations, and business stakeholders to ensure software assets are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Asset and License ManagementMaintain and manage software asset inventory and license records.Administer software licenses, including terms and conditions, usage rules, restrictions, and product associations.Associate purchases, subscriptions, and renewals with corresponding licenses within the Software Asset Management (SAM) tool.Support administration and maintenance of the SAM platform, including upgrades, interfaces, and troubleshooting.Collect and reconcile software installation data to determine compliance positions.Manage inventory collection processes, beacons, subnets, device information, and collaborate with IT Operations to resolve inventory issues.Monitor and maintain the overall health of the Software Asset Management environment.Reporting and AnalysisDesign and generate reports to monitor software compliance, liabilities, and budgetary information.Analyze exception reports and investigate licensing risks.Provide recommendations and remediation plans to address compliance concerns.Licensing Support and Cost OptimizationSupport sourcing teams and business stakeholders with software renewals and maintenance agreements.Ensure payments align with contractual commitments and avoid unnecessary fees or service disruptions.Identify underutilized software ("shelfware") and recommend opportunities for license reuse or cancellation.Drive cost savings through rationalization, license recycling, and optimized licensing practices.Coordinate software compliance remediation activities and communicate risks to stakeholders.Governance and Continuous ImprovementSupport the ongoing improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).Ensure software management practices comply with internal policies and external standards.Maintain documentation and process records.Assist with internal and external audits and certification efforts.Contribute to software vulnerability management and intellectual property protection initiatives.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceAssociate degree or equivalent technical certification in Information Technology or a related field.Minimum one year of experience in IT, software asset management, procurement, or a related discipline.Understanding of Software Asset Management principles and lifecycle processes.Experience with software inventory tools and asset management platforms; Flexera experience is highly desirable.Familiarity with IT environments and information security concepts.Experience creating and maintaining technical or procedural documentation.Desired Technical KnowledgeExperience with one or more of the following is preferred:FlexeraLansweeperSCCMMicrosoft 365Software inventory and discovery toolsOracle databasesAsset management and compliance reporting toolsSkills and CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.Self-motivated with strong time-management skills.Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across global teams.Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.Comfortable working with international stakeholders.Fluent in English.Our Hiring ProcessAt Viridien, we are committed to delivering a respectful, inclusive, and transparent recruitment experience.Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to provide individual feedback to every applicant.
