Job Summary:
The position is for a Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse working in a healthcare facility located in Porter Ranch, California. This role involves providing specialized outpatient Oncology care, with a focus on administering chemotherapy, managing ports, and patient education. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment. The shift is scheduled for Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 17:00, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Location: Porter Ranch, CA
- Position: Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse on the Oncology Floor
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 2-3 years of outpatient Oncology nursing experience; active certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS); must possess an active nursing license and be eligible to work in California.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic medical record system, trauma level experience, teaching hospital background.
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), ONS certifications.
- Additional Information: Experience with managing ports, chemotherapy administration, and outpatient oncology is required. Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are required.
- Charting System: Epic.
- Float: No, but scope may change based on clinic needs.
- Compliance modules: Up to 4 hours, recorded via Certificate of Completion, completed pre-start.
- Start Date: 07/06/2026
- Special Skills: Managing ports, administering chemotherapy and coagulation factors, patient education, and support, proficiency in electronic charting.
- Note: Candidates must bring their license on the first day; travel and accommodation arrangements should be confirmed independently.
