Description

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist / Rad Tech with at least 2 years of hospital experience for a night shift, weekend-only position in a freestanding emergency department in the Richmond, VA area.

Details

• Freestanding emergency department (FSED) with 12 beds and a 7-bed vertical fast track area
• Covers both CT and X-ray modalities, often as the sole technologist for both
• Average daily volume of 80 patients, with 100+ patients during winter surge
• Standard ER procedures performed; no surgical procedures or biopsies
• Moderate pediatric volume with Acute Stroke Ready designation
• Equipment includes GE Optima CT scanner and GE portable X-ray
• EMR/documentation systems: Meditech and Sectra
• Night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12.5-hour shifts), Friday through Sunday
• 36 hours per week with rotating holiday coverage; no on-call required
• Floating to other units is not required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
• Active ARRT and ARRT-CT certifications required
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) required; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Current TNCC certification required for this ER position
• Active VA license or compact license required for consideration — license required if applicable
• Must have active experience in the role within the last 6 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if from Florida or Missouri)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Must be able to work independently and provide single-staff coverage for both CT and X-ray modalities
• Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-centered approach are essential
• The affiliated main campus holds Trauma Level 1, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Burn Center designations
• Department is known for excellent teamwork, strong culture, and high patient experience scores (above 80th percentile)
• Grey scrubs required
