About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM Must-Have: Level III Perinatal Care Experience Description: Responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. Delivers safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Utilizes evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making along with compassion and skilled communication. Leads efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. Knowledgeable in placenta accreta and able to support high-risk mothers and newborns. Provides care for high-risk mothers and newborns, including tubal ligation, cerclage, and hysterectomies. Assists as secondary nurse for C-section deliveries and circulates in vaginal deliveries. Responsible for surgical recovery and care for newborns, including management of massive transfusions and pre-eclampsia. Patient ratios include 1:1-2 for active labor and 1:3 for antepartum. Required skills include fetal monitoring, maternal assessments, high-risk newborn care post-delivery, and OB triage. Able to assist with circulating C-sections and perform cervical exams for labor progression. Supports various procedures and post-partum recoveries, as well as L&D recoveries. Charting is completed using electronic health record systems. Travelling nurses may be required to float to other units as needed. Scheduling is flexible, with no set schedules required. Must be available to work 7 days a week, including every other weekend and holiday. Attire is provided through the facility.
