Security Officers play a vital role in maintaining a secure atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, families, and visitors while upholding the academy's standards of professionalism, respect, and accountability.Position OverviewAs a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure campus by monitoring school grounds, enforcing policies, and responding to incidents. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, excellent customer service, and the ability to interact positively with students, faculty, parents, and visitors while maintaining a safe educational environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSurveillance: Monitor security cameras and conduct regular patrols of academic buildings, residence halls, athletic facilities, and campus grounds to identify suspicious activity, safety hazards, or unauthorized access.Access Control: Verify identification, manage visitor access, and ensure only authorized individuals enter campus facilities.Emergency Response: Respond promptly to alarms, medical emergencies, behavioral incidents, and other security concerns.Incident Reporting: Accurately document incidents, observations, and policy violations in a timely manner.Patrolling: Perform routine foot patrols throughout the campus, including dormitories, classrooms, athletic venues, parking areas, and exterior grounds.Customer Service: Provide assistance, directions, and support to students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.Safety Inspections: Identify and report safety concerns, maintenance issues, or potential hazards affecting campus operations.Conflict Resolution: Professionally de-escalate situations while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.Collaboration: Work closely with school administration, residential staff, athletic personnel, fellow Security Officers, and emergency responders when necessary.QualificationsStrong observational and problem-solving skillsAbility to remain calm and professional under pressureExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to interact positively with students, faculty, parents, and visitorsCommitment to ethical practices, professionalism, and safetyBasic to intermediate computer skillsRequirementsMust be at least 18 years of ageReliable transportation and communicationLegal authorization to work in the United StatesAbility to read, write, and speak English effectivelyHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalentBenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with employer matchPaid time off, paid training, and company-provided uniformsCompany-paid life insuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Wellness and financial support programsEmployee discount programs (vehicles, electronics, travel, and more)Join Securitas and help provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment where student-athletes can thrive.
