Interim Senior Accountant

Our consultants include CPAs and MBAs, typically with a Big 4 foundation, extensive hands‑on and leadership roles in large global companies, subject matter experts, and 10+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting and various project roles supporting CFO organizations. BrightCore is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant at our client located in Houston, TX. The client would like the consultant to work approximately 20 hours a week and then could ramp up to full-time to support other areas. Project is expected to last at least a year with 1 day in office, other hours can be remote. W2 workers only.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for supporting the accounting team by performing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with collections and month‑end closing activities. Post customer payments and apply them accurately to accounts. Follow up on outstanding balances and assist with collections to ensure timely resolution. Compily, verify, and process financial documents such as invoices, checks, and receipts. Assist with month‑end closing activities, including reconciliations and preparation of accounting reports. Maintain general ledger entries and support the preparation of financial statements. Respond to account‑related inquiries and route complex issues to the appropriate department. Perform general administrative duties and special projects as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure transparency, accuracy, and service excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with payment posting, collections, or month‑end processes is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr BrightCore
