Underwriting Assistant

Underwriting Assistant Responsibilities Evaluate accounts to determine acceptability within the underwriting appetite. Review submissions for completeness and accuracy and make requests for information. Rate, quote, bind, and issue policies in accordance with stated underwriting authority. Submit referrals to supervisor, underwriter, or management as required. Support a book of new and renewal business consisting of various accounts to achieve written premium and loss ratio objectives. Provide reports to management as needed and requested. Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of commercial lines insurance experience preferred, but not required. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Must possess insurance knowledge with analytical and mathematical skills. Ability to service and maintain strong relationships with agents. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. Thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates teamwork capabilities. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
